N-K-P: plants love it but what do they mean?

N-K-P: Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium. These 3 ingredients are on the label of the plant food.
Nitrogen:
For green and growth.
Phosphorous:
For Flowering, Fruiting, Strong roots.
Potassium:
For strong plant structure and disease resistance.

A good balance is always ideal but over feeding of nitrogen results in a big green plant but no fruit or flowers.
Not enough nitrogen= puny plants that may even turn purple and never produce fruit or flowers.
