Black, Green, White, Red Tea? What’s the difference?

Black, Green, White, Red Tea? What’s the difference?

Black, green, white or red, these teas are made from the Camellia Sinensis plant. The difference between black, green and white is the oxidation/fermentation and drying process.

White–young tea leaves, dried, but not fermented.
Green—mature leaves, steamed, not fermented, dried.
Black teas, are called black because the leaves turn black after
drying, fermentation process. These are allowed to dry naturally,
then fermented, fired and dried.
So red tea? Where does that come in?
“In some Asian cultures, they label the tea by the color in the cup.
So red tea is actually black tea product, but the tea appears red in
the cup.

Another red tea is the Rooibos plant (of the Aspalathus genus), found in the Cederberg mountains of South Africa … is often commercially marketed as Red tea.” –Wikipedia

Where does the fork go?

Have trouble remembering where the fork goes when you set the table?

The easiest way to remember is that knife and spoon are spelled with five letters,  so is “right“. Place them to the right of the plate. Fork is spelled with four letters,  as is “left“.  Put it on the left side of the plate.

Unfortunately, this only works in English.

Is it a fruit or vegetable?

Why somethings are considered “fruits” when they are so obviously belong with the vegetables,? like tomatoes, avocados, both technically fruits.

There are many scientific/biological requirements that make a fruit not a vegetable, but the easiest way is to ask yourself, “Do I eat the whole plant (lettuce) or just what it produces (tomato)?” Lettuce (vegetable), tomato(fruit).

Now wasn’t that easy?

Why Do Leaves Change Color in the Fall?

Why do leaves change color in the Fall?
Chlorophyll is what makes leaves green and helps the plant photosynthesize so it can to feed itself.
Shorter days (coming on Fall) tell trees to produce less chlorophyll as it prepares to drop it’s leaves and rest over the Winter.
The leaves become less green and the Cartenoids (like the color in carrots and tomatoes) are revealed as yellow and red.
If the weather is colder than usual you may see deep red or purple leaves, caused by Anthocyanins (same as in blueberries).

Everyday vs Every Day

What’s the difference?

Everyday: denotes the ordinary, the average. My everyday clothes vs special occasion outfit.

Every  Day: Means every single day. As in ” this happens every  single  day”- a regular daily occurrence-” I read the newspaper every  day.

It’s easier to remember the difference if you say it Everyday (one word) vs  Every  (take a breath)  Day (two words with a breath in the middle).
